Flatrate pricing is a great tool for the right business. In this podcast, we dispel some of the myths.
Series: Flatrate Pricing. Friend, or Foe.
Cohost: Steve Piper.
We’ve had loads of requests, from many of our listeners for us to create some specific content on flatrate pricing. We’ve touched on it in a handful of episodes, however we’ve not yet dedicated an entire episode, let alone an entire series.
If this episode interests you, chance are you’ll enjoy the following episodes:
- Episode 19. Pricing for profit with Matt from Cube Consulting
- Episode 65. Knowing Your Hourly Rate, with Adrian From Trained To Sell
- Episode 68. Charging For Quotes. Again with Adrian From Trained To Sell
- Episode 84. More Trust equals more sales with Eve John
In this series I’m joined by Steve Piper, who formally owned a well known plumbing company called The Pied Plumber. Steve sold that business a number of years ago, when he decided to focus on further developing the quoting program they used so that other companies could benefit from it also.
He and his wife Penny now run Plumbing Profits, where they teach plumbers how to implement the ‘flatrate pricing’ model into their businesses.
Episode 1. Flatrate Pricing Myths.
In this podcast we set out to dispel some of the myths that we commonly hear about flatrate pricing. You know the ones:
- “It’s a rip off”
- “It doesn’t work”
- “It’s dishonest”
- “My customers won’t like it”
- “My technicians won’t use it”, etc
Folks, like in most cases, what we hear on the street is BS!
Flatrate pricing is a very powerful tool that when used properly, can offer up some great rewards. Steve has an interesting perspective as he’s not some software geek trying to flog a product to a market he has no idea about. Steve is a plumber and a successful plumber at that. He’s coming to us from ‘in the trenches’. It was working so well for him that he decided to close his successful business and build a business out of it.
Note: Although this product is currently aimed at plumbers, it’s relevant to anyone in the maintenance, or emergency service business. Plumbers, Sparkies, Gardeners, Aircon, HVAC, etc.
If you enjoy this episode, share it with someone that could benefit from it.
If you’re kind of ‘on the fence’ as to whether, or not flatrate pricing is a good fit for your business, this one page pdf from Plumbing Profits may help you reach a decision.
As always, it’s totally FREE, so enjoy!
