Series – The Future Of Energy

Part Two – Solar power, fuelling communities

  • Guest – Alex Georgiou
  • From – ShineHub

The Future Of Energy series has been designed to offer multiple perspectives from various guests within the energy sector.

Comprising of three separate episodes and three separate guests, we cover the evolving energy market, from the grid and our energy providers, right through to the residential electrician, who’s out there installing solar panels on homes.

Throughout this series, we talk about fossil fuels, solar energy, wind and hydro energy, even nuclear. They are three different conversations at three different levels but with one common theme in understanding ‘the future of energy.

  • Here is part one – The Future Of Our Energy Sources – [LINK]

In episode one, I speak with a friend of mine, Andrew, about the future of energy from the perspective of the grid and where our energy comes from both now and in the future. With the introduction of more renewable and sustainable energy, the way we generate energy today will look very different in 50 years.

In today’s episode, I’m speaking with Alex from ShineHub about communities that are being built to run on solar energy.

Crazy, right? I know, I was pretty shocked to hear that these sorts of places exist, but sure enough, both here in Australia and right around the world, communities are harvesting, storing and using solar energy as their primary power source.

Imagine the global problems that could be resolved if power was available via solar? Rural communities in third-world countries could access clean water, via powered pumps. Education could be made available via computers that now are able to run off solar power. In general, the planet would be a much better place.

As you’re about to learn, this is the future that is upon us. It’s here already. On our doorsteps, even. I hope you’re impressed by this podcast as I was in recording it.

I have been listening to the pod casts for a few months now, I can't get enough of all the awesome content that you guys provide. Especially when you guys deliver it from a trade perspective which helps out a lot. Keep up the good work and hopefully one day I can afford one of the trade training trips.
