The difference between setting a goal and dreaming is creating a game plan?
Series: Goal Setting
Cohost: Tom Reber from Motor Hard
With a new year upon us and setting goals being at the forefront of all of our minds, I thought it would be cool to create a podcast series on setting goals…the right way.
I don’t know if you’re anything like me, however I have set so many goals in the past, to which many of them, for one reason or another, I just forget about.
We all know the importance of creating goals and we’ve all heard the cliché quotes relating to creating goals. You know the ones like; “90% of the goals you write down come true”; “Read your goals out loud every day”, etc.
Well quite frankly, I call bullshit. I spent years doing this and nothing good ever happened because of a couple of reasons.
- They weren’t goals, they were wishes, or dreams
- I hadn’t been creating a game plan of steps to help me get towards my goals
- I had no accountability. To either myself, or someone else.
I asked Tom to co-host this series with me on goal setting because I want you guys to not just set goals this year, I want you to set the right goals and more importantly, I want you to achieve them.
If you do this right, it will change your life, not just your business.
I wish you all a fantastic 2017.
Set goals – Create a game plan to achieve your goals – Achieve your goals.

Episode 1.Creating a game plan in your business.
This is part one of the three part series on goal setting with Tom Reber from Motor Hard. We’ve chosen ‘creating a game plan’ because if you don’t have a strategy behind what you’re striving to achieve, then it’s destined to fail.
Tom runs through some very useful frameworks that we can use when setting a game plan. We cover the following:
- Communicating and clarifying your vision
- Keeping focussed on what’s important
- Keeping on track
- Knowing where you want to end up
- Visualising and visualisation
This is the first chapter in setting your goals for the new year. Take an afternoon off and get it done if you want this year to be different from the last.
